RAF Digby Released

Now available is a new scenery for RAF Digby in Lincolnshire, a fighter station originally opened for the Royal Naval Air Service during World War 1 and going on to serve throughout World War II.

These days, Digby is a school for people learning to erect aerials, but the scenery to reinsert it into FSX is available here, or via the menu entry in the sidebar.

RAF Halesworth (Station 365) - Version 1.1

Another makeover with Bill Womack's RAF Airfield Buildings (but unfortunately not the J type hangars this time - they didn't fit!), version 1.1 of RAF Halesworth is now available.

Halesworth was a US base during WW2, housing the P-47s of "Zemke's Wolfpack", then B-24 Liberators and finally P-51 Mustangs before being used by the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm and the Ministry of Food. These days, it's covered in poultry pens!

Notes on all Sceneries

Anyone who has downloaded my sceneries might have noticed that their ground textures and layouts are different than mine - in some cases considerably different.

The reason for this is that, to put it bluntly, the default MS UK is pretty abysmal. It's brown, the landclass is wrong, major rivers are portrayed as tiny streams... Therefore I have modified my own FS installation, on which many of the screenshots I show are taken, quite heavily.

Yet more Hixon!

...as if you hadn't had enough of it already.

Version 1.2 of Hixon is now available, featuring a complete new set of buildings by scenery guru Bill Womack. The hangars are now J types rather than the strictly accurate T.2s, but I don't think, when you see the new update, anyone will care much.

With great thanks to Bill, the new version can be downloaded from the RAF Hixon page here or linked on the sidebar to the left.

Hixon Take II

For those who want a little more realism, but are prepared to suffer a slightly more convoluted install process to get there, a new version of RAF Hixon for MS FSX, version 1.1, has been added to the Hixon page.

Version 1.1 uses Ted Andrews's RAF Hangars libraries, details on the page and in the readme, to replace the MS defaults for a more accurate "1943" ambience.

RAF Hixon (re)Released

First content re-uploaded to the site, the RAF Hixon default-object-only scenery is now available for download.

Please click on the "RAF Hixon" link in the sidebar to access and download the file.

Welcome to the Dark Corner!

There's not a lot here right now, as you may have noticed (but if you hit refresh, the picture at the top changes!)

As and when we get the site up and running properly, I'll update this to show that packages have been re-uploaded or released for the first time. We'll see.

Anyway, thanks for visiting the front page. We hope you enjoyed reading it!
