RAF Ballykelly

  • ICAO Code: EGQB
  • Location: County Londonderry, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom
  • Type: Operational Coastal Command
  • Parent: RAF Coastal Command
  • Current Version: 0.1
  • Download link: Download
  • Required Libraries, Ted Andrews, Bill Womack, IJP

Originally the home of long-range Liberator and Fortress patrol aircraft, Ballykelly remained in service post-war, operating Shackleton patrol aircraft before being closed and handed over to the Army as Shackleton Barracks. As of 2016, the site has been closed entirely and is awaiting disposal/redevelopment.

The version of Ballykelly currently presented is considered a “beta” version with known issues and missing objects/structures. It is, however, usable within the sim. It is currently configured as a hybrid “recent past” version, effectively Shackleton Barracks with two of the three runways opened to traffic. It is currently envisaged that there will be three versions of the scenery: “WW2”, “cold war” and “modern”
