Possibly the ultimate in over-promising and under-delivering, how long have I been promising a Luftwaffe medium bomber base for FSX/P3D? Well, here it is, at last.
With construction started by and initial occupation by the French Air Force, then the British arriving, before being captured by the Germans, then used again by the Allies after D-Day, Lille-Nord certainly saw a lot of use during WW2. It’s still operating aircraft today, in the guise of Marcq-en-Baroeul, a GA airfield situated in the south of the old airbase.
Unfortunately this is, by necessity, a representation rather than a recreation of the WW2 airfield, simply due to lack of available information; most of what I could find was text rather than images and given that it seems to have had at least four names, even finding that was a challenge!
If you want to have a look, however, it’s available under the “Luftwaffe” sub section of the menu at the top of the page, or directly here.
Something of particular note with this one is that it needs all the new Luftwaffe objects from the latest update of my scenery libraries.
